Arthur W. Cooler, MD, FACS, RPVI

Dr. CoolerDr. Cooler enjoys all aspects of general surgery but has a strong interest in vascular surgery.  RPVI is the acronym for Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation.  Many patients see Dr. Cooler when they experience pain in their legs, and tests reveal occluded or blocked arteries. Dr. Cooler is skilled in treating Peripheral Arterial Disease with percutaneous interventional and minimally invasive techniques including angioplasty, atherectomy and stents.

Medical laser treatments performed by Dr. Cooler include vascular lesions, leg veins, acne and rosacea.

A native of Charleston, SC, Dr. Cooler grew up in Atlanta, GA and graduated from The Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.  After completing his general surgery residency at the University of South Carolina/Richland Memorial Hospital, he joined Hartsville Surgical Center in 1996. 

Service to the community of Hartsville includes previous leadership roles at Coker College, the Governor’s School for Science and Math, the Boys and Girls Club of the Pee Dee, the Hartsville Family YMCA, and the Rotary Club of Hartsville. 

Dr. Cooler is a registered pilot, so when not in the operating room, he enjoys travel, exercise and other outdoor activities.  He is a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Hartsville.
